+ How does digital tailoring work?

We combined traditional craftsmanship with digital solutions to create a contactless and safe made-to-measure experience. Powered by machine learning and 3D scanning technology, this digital feature accurately measures our customers using only two pictures they submit to us via a measurement link from their smartphones.

+ What is the process?

The journey consists of three simple steps - schedule a virtual consultation (optional), place your order for your preferred style and submit two pictures to get measured. Read more about the made-to-measure process.

+ How to take pictures properly?

For optimal results, please follow the instructions closely.

  • Wear fitted clothing (tight jeans, leggings, a tank top or tight shirt, etc.).
  • Take off all unnecessary items of clothing and accessories (hair accessories, jewellery, belts and bags).
  • Tie up or pull back long hair.
  • Pose naturally and neutrally with relaxed arms (don’t squeeze your legs, put or hold your hands together, place hands in pockets, or stand stiff).
  • The distance between your feet should be about 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm).
  • The distance between you and the camera should be about 6 to 8 ft. (2 - 2.5m). The camera centre placement should be at the waist level of the person.
  • Keep your photos bright and clear—with the distinct contour of your body. Photos in the dark won’t be accepted.
  • The photos should be original and not post-processed by the user (e.g. cropped, resized, etc.)
  • Other technical requirements include size (200 KB to 20 MB), format (JPG or PNG) and resolution (​​480 х 640 to 2000 х 4000).

+ I do not feel comfortable doing this on my own. Is there another way?

Our service offers both “hands-free” mode and “with a friend mode”. “Hands-free” mode is accompanied by a voice-controlled guide, best recommended for solo users. “With a friend” mode consists of someone else taking your pictures from your smartphone. Both should follow the same detailed photography guidelines listed above for optimal results.

+ Is my personal information kept private?

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. The photos used for your measurements are not kept or stored. Only the measurements will be kept to produce your Julie Townend London shirt(s). For more information, please read our Privacy policy.

+ I do not wish to see my measurements

We understand that many women wouldn’t want to see their measurements. That’s why they only appear to us once they are generated. If you wish to be provided with a copy, please contact us.

+ Can I cancel or amend any of my order details?

Yes, if you wish to cancel or change your order, please contact us within 24 hours of placing your order.

+ Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express credit and debit cards, our digital gift cards and support Apple Pay and Google Pay. Paypal and Maestro cards are currently not supported. For more information, please read our Terms.

+ Which currency can I use to place my order?

Prices may be displayed in your local currency; however, all final payments are taken in GBP (£).

+ When will my order be charged?

Payment is taken once your order is placed and you will receive a confirmation email. This will be reflected in your bank or credit card balance according to your institution’s standard processing time. For more information, please read our Terms.

+ Can I amend my delivery address once the order has been placed?

Yes, if you wish to change your delivery details, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably within the first two weeks of placing the order. Once your order has been shipped, we are unable to make any amendments to the address.

+ How will I know the delivery times?

We pride ourselves in quality and investment in our made-to-measure and made-to-order service. Each garment takes 21 to 30* working days to be individually produced and delivered. With an experienced team at our atelier, your Julie Townend London silk shirt will be made and handled with care. In the meantime, please contact us for further assistance.

*Delivery times are calculated in working days Monday to Friday. If you order after 16:00, the next working day will be considered the first working day for delivery. In the case of bank holidays and over the Christmas and Summer period, please allow more time. We will attempt to email you if we become aware of an unexpected delay.

+ Which countries do you deliver to?

We currently only deliver within the U.K., but we are looking to expand our reach in due course.

+ How can I track the delivery of my order?

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a notification with the tracking information.

+ Which carrier do you use?

Most of our orders will be shipped with Trust couriers, including DHL, FedEx and UPS.

+ What should I do if I receive a faulty item?

Your Julie Townend London made-to-measure and made-to-order product is a commitment and is ONLY returnable and refundable if it arrives damaged. In this very unlikely event, please contact us immediately so we can assist you accordingly.

Please note that this ONLY applies to any items that are new and unused, with the original tag intact.

Should the fit not meet your expectations, please visit your preferred tailor* and provide us with a receipt, so we can cover up to £50 of the cost. This is our Perfect Fit Guarantee.

*Please note that we won’t be liable for any potential damages caused by your tailor, and your order will no longer be qualified for a return once it’s altered.

+ How do I unsubscribe from your newsletter?
